| Decorations in a Turtle Tank Although not required it is nice to have decorations in your tank. You should put something on the bottom of your tank so it doesn't act like a mirror. You can use small rocks(not beach rocks-salt water, cause it will make your water hard), sand(messy), or even aquarium rocks like you put in your fish tank. It's nice to have some plants(carefull of plastic because your turtle may eat it and cause him/her trouble), you should provide a hiding place, you could have some wood or branches (not painted or pressure treated) in the water and sticking out to provide a place for him to climb out of the water. Especially good if your turtle is a poor swimmer. |
